Getting better but something happened
I got a lot better these past days and i can feel myself eating more, socializing. Then i saw that i received a call from an unknown number, i immediately freaked out, i was breathing heavily etc. I just recently changed my number due to privacy/safety concerns related to my traumatic experience so i guess an unknown number just triggered my panic attacks. The unknown number turned out to be just someone calling the wrong number so it was a false alarm but i hate how i overthink, get paranoid and jumpy at every little things. I really want to stop overthinking every little things. I pray that i'll find peace soon.
I've had stuff like that happen as well. It gets especially annoying when you just started feeling better too. I really hope you find peace soon. It sounds like you probably will pretty soon too if you're already doing well, to begin with. Just remember not to put a deadline on it, and don't ever beat yourself up over it. Though, I'm sure you knew that already. :)
Hello. It sounds like you are feeling that you have gotten better after your traumatic experiences, but then something happened, in which you saw an unknown number calling on your phone, and it made you feel paranoid, and jumpy. I have learned that after trauma, one might encounter what is called an "exaggerated startle response." I think that you tried to take steps to cope with your trauma, by changing your number, and that this event of feeling discomfort at seeing a private number calling, might be a normal reaction, after experiencing traumatic events. I have learned that it takes time to heal from these. I hope you can cope with other things such as this, should they happen. Wishing you the best in your recovery.
@intuitiveFarm3142 Just remember that healing is not a straight line. It's usually a "two steps forward, one step backward" journey. And even then, some people fall ten steps back before they find their footing again.
That phone call really threw you off your game. I can tell the anxiety you are dealing with feels overwhelming. Be easy on yourself. We don't change overnight, so you will not be able to rid yourself of all these overwhelming feelings all at once. You are still getting better, even though something caught you off guard. Don't think of it as, "I was doing well, then this thing messed me up." It's more like, "I was doing really well, and then this challenge came at me."
Take each day one at a time. We're here for you.
