I'm proud honey. (Possible trigger? Also encouraging though...)
I talked a girl through going to the hospital and getting a rape kit this morning. I am so beyond proud of her. It takes such strength to keep going after something like that and doing something about it? She is so very very brave and amazing. She has a chance now to put him away, or at least keep it from happening to anyone else.
Honey, if you're on here and reading this, my heart is so full of pride for you. You are so very very strong and you did so well. Always, always remember sweet girl that you are not at fault in this. You didn't ask for it. You weren't stupid to trust him. He was cruel and brutal and decided to become a bad person. You didn't decide that for him. You are completely blameless in this honey.
We're here if you need hugs and we freely send them to you. Especially me. But we cannot help you through all of this, a few of us have the training to be licensed professionals, but most of us don't. We're just offering our support and love. If you can, and I know you are strong enough to, find a good therapist. Sometimes the first one might not be the right fit so it's ok to keep looking if you need to. But a therapist can help you work through the wounds that this has left. I really recommend that you find one. Mine has been the best teacher I could have ever asked for.
Now brave beautiful girl, there are going to be hard times. Really hard times. But remember, oh please remember! that it wasn't your fault and that I love you. Freely and unconditionally. Because you are you. Brave and strong and however you feel too.

@alice22 Alice, you are so amazing! You care so much about people and this post proves that! Yes, the victims of assault and abuse are often mistreated by others too and we're made to believe that it was all our fault but it wasn't! It was their choice, not ours.. So your post is absolutely stunning <3 Thank you being such a beautiful person <3 <3 *hugs* I'm always here if you want to PM :) And if the person for whom this post was written is reading this as well, you can PM me too :) Extremely sorry about the very delayed response <3
@alice22 Wow I'm proud of YOU for being so encouraging to this girl. And what a great message to others in the same boat. I was abused by my ex and I only learned years later that I should've called the cops and pressed charges, but it basically was too late and would've been an uphill battle. It is brave to come forward and do something about abuse and I applaud this girl. I hope you are doing well since posting <3
