Im the worst mom
Yesterday my almost 2 year old walked out an open door at my place of business and into a busy intersection on the 30 seconds that my attention was elsewhere. My employee rushed to tell me he was in the street. Luckily a woman stopped traffic and was headed towards my building as I was rushing to go get him. She began yelling at me and refused to give my son back at first until he cried and reached for me. I am unable to forgive myself for allowing this to happen. I cannot cope or function right now as it just keeps replaying in my head. Im not suicidal but i do wish i was dead at least 10 times a day.

Dear, i think we all need to set priorities in life. Also, you realized that what you were missing in life. Maybe that's a chance God gave you and believe me not everyone gets this. Work is done to make life easy and pleasurable but work isn't life.

Hello lovely,
Gosh, I imagine that was quite a scare for you, but the important thing to remember here, is the fact that he is okay, safe and well, and the chances of him remembering this encounter, are none. So, having that said, there is no point in beating yourself up about this, it's happened, and you cant change what's already happened, okay. However, you can most defiantly put some provisions in place to prevent this kind of thing happeneing again, have you considered getting a play pen at your place of work, an enclosed area for him to play? Can you strap him down in a chair with a tray of activities?
One thing I want to reiterate is, just because of one mishap, this doesn't make you a bad mom, parenting is very demanding, and we don't always get things right, it's defiantly one huge learning curve, things can always happen regarding children and this is because they are so inquisitive, most of the time, you need eyes in the back of your head, because they can move sooooo quickly! But remember all the good you bring him, the love and care you provide, the warm stable upbringing in which you nurture him, these are what's important, and need remembering when we make our little errors along the way, ease up on yourself, your doing a fantastic job being a mom.
Dont dwell on what's already happened, your son isn't, and he needs his mom to be happy, positive and proactive.
Best of luck sweetheart❤️
Every one makes mistakes your not the only parent that has or had done something wrong children run off cause there curiosity and they see something that catches there eye you as a parent have to watch children like a hawk watching there prey he's safe and back with you again that's the main thing just make sure to always have a eye out I out harnesses or even in the stroller for my girl she's now 3 and she runs off bolts like no tomorrow you have to be alert 24/7 you know there's a main busy road where your work is you should have known he can run I don't have anything for him to keep him safe your very lucky and so is your son your both very lucky make sure next time you take him into work have a safety harness on him or a stroller or hold him in your arms and make sure the doors are closed and he can't get out I always make sure my daughter is safe before I go anywhere I always make sure I pack things to keep her safe good luck and all the best
Would like to echo what others here have said. Please try and not beat yourself up. Everyone does matter including you. It can be hard being a mother and sadly accidents happen to children, children get lost and Im sure a lot of people can appreciate just how your feelings as they have probably at some point or another experiencing perhaps something similar to the terrifying experience you have just had. If you were not a good Mum you would not be this upset. Please, please remember that you are doing the very best you can and we can all learn from things that happen. Perhaps as someone has said, you could consider a safety harness? This may make you feel more at peace with yourself. Take care
A friend had a similar expericence in a parking lot, she was putting the shopping in the boot of the car and suddenly the pram started rolling backwards , she ran after the pram but couldn't keep up. A man appeared out of nowhere and managed to get the pram to stop. Seeing the state my friend was in he helped her take the pram to the car and put the rest of her shopping in the boot.
The woman who refrained from giving you your back your son was making you feel guiltier than you already felt, her reaction probably didn't help. You could've done with a little support after the shock you'd just experienced rather than being berated. These things do happen, Dont be hard on yourself.
