"Little Animals"
So I thought given the new update with the little animals attached to our profiles that I might not be the only one that needs to talk about it.
I was strongly triggered by this, started freaking out and panicking because it wasn't optional, we weren't even warned, that feeling of losing control, something being forced on me with no warning.

I hate these stupid animals and I hate @Laura for her dismissive, belittling, and demeaning responses to genuine concerns!!! 😡😡😡
@BeeLeigh I'm sorry, Bee❤️I honestly don't fathom the logic of their stated rationale. They want to bring the community together globally by...constructing new artificial, arbitrary social identity markers for us to be defined by whether we like it or not? Frankly, the last thing I want or need is to be reminded of when and why I joined Cups, nor be expected to shares those details with others simply because they happened to sign up in the same month. And then conflating sign up date with the beginning of one's "healing journey"? Baffling and completely unnecessary, and I feel awful for those such as yourself who are legitimately triggered or offended by this thoughtless endeavour (including those for whom animals have deep cultural and spiritual significance). To paraphrase Patrick McGoohan of The Prisoner, "I AM NOT AN ICON -- I AM A FREE PERSON!"

Im so sorry this update has upset you so much. I hope that the admin will hear your concerns and those of other people and make changes that you are happy with.
By the way, on the app there are no animals. To me you are a beautiful purple butterfly! ❤️

I just want an opt-out. We shouldnt have members creating extensions for our browsers to turn off this update, that should be a feature that comes with it. Theyve forced the entire community into something a large portion doesnt want, and have belittled and dismissed those whove presented concern. This update should have come with an off switch.

Completely true. These icons are irrelevant to our roles and time n 7 Cups.
Besides, we weren't even given options to choose from ~ hmm! And I'm not exactly responding well to my Camel icon either
sigh...

You're welcome, I figured people needed a safe place to communicate their feelings about this and after reading in the actual update thread, I knew I wasn't alone, but that also we would be validated and considered here.
