Animal Cohort Update
Hello all!
We have heard you out. The animal cohort icons can now be turned off on your settings page. One thing we realize here is that this update was released too quickly, and we apologize for this. We always prefer to take extra time to hear the community out on new features if we are able. Moving forward, I cannot promise we will always provide opt out options for new features. But I can promise we will continue to do our best to give you enough time to chime in for feedback and ideas. In exchange, we ask that you always keep an open eye to change. Change will continue to happen in our community and we all need to be flexible and understanding. Though it can be hard, change always leads us to learning new skills and gives us the opportunity to grow and evolve our community.
We are going to move forward with fun and interesting community programming around these animal groups. There is still something to learn from this update and we hope you will join us in figuring that out as a team! Check out this new forum area (coming soon!) dedicated to your animal groupings! And more to come!
Final note - this update has removed the animal icons from the forum. We hope to bring these back next week.
Thank you for your feedback!
Although I am a fan of the animals, I do appreciate the ability to opt-out for those who didn't like it as much. I know not every new feature will have an opt-out ability, but I do think that most of them should so our users can customize their experience to their liking.
Please dont bring the animals back in the forums.
@Laura and leadership team -
Hi :) I hope we will get back to the animal 'teams.' Sure, it is a quite random way of separating the members and listeners into teams, but hey - random is not always bad! As a butterfly (M)side and I think dolphin (L)side - I have not yet found our 'own' forum pages, it sounds like they are not going to be available now for awhile? I'm confused, Laura. I definitely appreciate the time and opportunity to give feedback on any 'big' changes for 7cups site. Some things won't affect me as much, and others I will either like/enjoy; or well, learn to deal with them. Have a super Saturday! <3 Platy
@Laura I chose to opt out of displaying an animal icon. Now that icons have returned to forums (and apparently broken the 'reply' script in the process), my icon is once again showing up beside my username. Hopefully this is only a temporary glitch, as I don't appreciate having my preferred display settings overridden like this. @krinkthemellowunicorn
I'm still not a fan of using the animals instead of just keeping it labelled for what is is. Join date months.
I just saw a notification for the 'butterflies'. My first thought was oh, is that for people with lupus (butterfly symbolizes due to the so called butterfly rash) or thyroid condition (thyroid is butterfly shaped).
