Moving on from trauma feels like I have a heart again. It feels like I have been waiting for me as I came full circle with my past. The breath is returning to my lungs and I can feel again. Every sensation and every emotion. It feels like falling in love for the first time. No longer dreaming of shadows and darkness.

It is a growth that never ends and teaches me about myself every day. As I shower, as I dream, as I dance, as I sing. Moving on from a traumatic life and embracing love, it's a road that I want to call home.

It is growth.

Moving on from trauma to me feels like there is a lifeline that I am holding onto and slowly but steadily being pulled to shore. I no longer believe I will drown in the depths of my past experiences. I may still be in the water fighting to get myself out of the turbulent waves...but with that lifeline I can at least hold my head above water and keep fighting.
