Not enough? (Maybe TW)

So I've been doubting my trauma for a long long time. It's caused a lot of negative thinking/bad coping mechanisms, and I want to be able to let go of it and accept it as either trauma, so I can begin to work on recovering, or not trauma, to still try and let go.

It began when my only friend for 10 years began to have romantic feelings for me that I did not return.

Once he realized this, he became obsessed with me. He isolated me from other peers and told me he was the only one worthy enough to talk to me. He stalked me, and would watch me whenever he could. He followed me everywhere, to the point where it became creepy. Whenever I made a new friend, he would pester them to death, blackmailing them and threatening to rape and kill them if they didn't stop being my friend. When I defended my new friends, he told me that it was all my fault about everything. He didn't even say what, it was just always my fault. The same thing drilled into my head for years. He told me I was worthless, ugly, and trash. He told everyone rumors about me in an attempt to get everyone to hate me so he could "have his woman back". Those were his words. I was now an object, not a human being.

And Everytime I think about this, I think well duh this is trauma, but then again it's not physical or directly sexual. How could this be enough to cause all of my anxiety and everything else I've delt with?

narcissism and sociopathy are very hard to deal with. Cut off all contact with him, you are the last person who will be able to help him.

Let us know how you get on. Stay safe.

I am so sorry that you had to go through this. You dealt with a sadistic narcissist. He really needs to go suck a rotten egg.
