Today has been a crappy day.

Hmm, where to start. I have medical ptsd and chronic health conditions. My birthday is coming up soon, and the window to have children is slowly closing for me. I wanted to be better by now. I wanted to be healed. But I don't think my body or mind can go through a pregnancy. So many doctor and hospital visits. Vivid nightmares about what could happen and what's happened to me in the past. Everyone around me just keeps subtly pointing out how old I am and tick tock and endless pregnancy stories. It's all so painful, and I feel so guilty and alone.

Any words of encouragement appreciated.

Hi Mariez, thank you for sharing some of your story. I think it's incredibly valid to be worried about pregnancy when hospitals and medical things are triggering for you. It is also so frustrating when we want things, completely natural things like wanting a child, and have the reality of our bodies telling us no. Life is very unfair in so many ways. I think that it could be worth a conversation with someone in the fertility field (maybe not in a hospital with a doctor, but maybe something more casual) about your options? Perhaps there is a possible plan that could be made keeping in mind your past trauma? Open communication can help a lot, and maybe knowing that there are options in the future when you are feeling more well can give yous some hope for now?

Do you think something like this would be possible?
