Triggered by a customer
This past weekend, a man who looked exactly like my ex came in and despite the fact that I tried to "play it cool," I let my emotions get the best of me and days later, he made a complaint about me, calling me rude and a liar.
That's exactly what I needed to hear /s. Thankfully I'm not in trouble, but getting triggered like that is going to hurt my career in the long run.
I wish I could just erase these awful memories of my ex.
FML.
@nobrokenhearts1993 *hugs if you are okay with it* Hey hearts, I'm so sorry to hear about what happened. It is so hard to not let the past get to us, and you did what you could to handle this customer. How are you doing now? We are here for you, and feel free to reach out to the listeners at any time if you ever need to chat with someone. Best wishes to you! :)
@lovelyWhisper66 thank you for your support. I'm doing better now after having a cry and my manager putting on his counselor hat and telling me that it's not childish of me to go through pain and not be over it overnight. I'm on the job right now and thankfully it's quiet.
I might need more than a listener, but I appreciate your kindness nonetheless.
@nobrokenhearts1993 You are most welcome! I appreciate the quick response. I'm so glad you are feeling better, and it is wonderful that your manager was super understanding of the crisis. I hope the rest of your shift goes well!
Sure, not a problem at all; I appreciate you reaching out to us nonetheless. :)
