...See more This past weekend, a man who looked exactly like my ex came in and despite the fact that I tried to "play it cool," I let my emotions get the best of me and days later, he made a complaint about me, calling me rude and a liar. That's exactly what I needed to hear /s. Thankfully I'm not in trouble, but getting triggered like that is going to hurt my career in the long run. I wish I could just erase these awful memories of my ex. FML.

Tired of feeling guilt over ending a bad relationship

...See more Gotta love it when even months later, the friend of the very ex I broke up with is still in the back of my head telling me that I "ruined" him and that he's still "dealing with that problem." I'm sorry, but not sorry that I ended a toxic relationship and that he's too emotionally stunted to deal with it like an adult. Same guy refuses to seek therapy because he doesn't want people to take his weapons collection away (again, I know, what was I thinking dating someone like that?) The guilty feeling needs to stop because I had every right to end it. I also shouldn't have given him any reason why it ended and I don't care how "cowardly" it was to break up with him through text because I don't want to have any direct conflict and yelling over the phone like he did to me several times before. I'm done feeling guilty at all. He was awful to me and overly paranoid of me. Again, I had every right to end it without any rhyme or reason. I'm done.

Writing to heal the trauma from past relationships

...See more So, let me first introduce myself. I'm Violet and I previously made a post about my last two relationships and the trauma it left on me. As a result, I've neglected my passion for writing for months. Dealing with the guilt and less than enjoyable memories has put me off from expressing my feelings. Today though, I'm proud of myself for going out of my comfort zone and writing a short prose. I left a link so that you all can read it for yourselves. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HNzU0TI5L2SHxiAkiz9n2pEAfWG6oPig/view?usp=drivesdk So what do you use to deal with trauma on the creative front. It would be awesome to see how other people express themselves creatively to cope.

Still dealing with the trauma of two bad relationships back to back

...See more So let me start off by saying "hello! My name is Violet and thank God this board exists." To begin, 2017/2018 were not great years for me because I got into two bad relationships with little to no time in between them (100% my fault on that). Both of my exes were emotionally and psychologically abusive towards me. Ex #1 was emotionally distant and gaslit me the entire time I was with him (more on that later). Ex #2 expected too much intimacy at once and often guilt tripped me for not being affectionate enough with him. Ex #2 still blames me for his issues with his family and his mental health. Ex #2 also expected me to immediately get on board with marrying him and having kids when I told him from the getgo I wasn't comfortable with the idea. He kept pushing it through guilt tripping me and by saying "I'll change my mind soon enough." Ex #2 was also a massive hypocrite. He'll tell me that he would provide for me 100% but then turn around and tell me that I couldn't shop at certain stores if they went against his beliefs. Back to Ex #1, he tried to convince me (and mostly himself) that it was only a casual relationship when he and I both knew we had real feelings for each other. He constantly said I was crazy because I kept questioning our relationship. It's been several months since I broke up with Ex #2 and over a year since I left Ex #1. I've tried to get back to dating, but every time I do, I just can't bring myself to open up to anyone. I'm stuck 😔
