Why would he get mad over this?
To give you a little bit of the back story, my counselor, who I had been seeing for the last several months and even been making progress started doing things that I find are strange. Basically, she just had not been consistent next to giving me and the clinic a big lack of communication. Long story short, I showed up last Thursday to what I thought was an appointment only to learn that she was out for the rest of the month.
I was very upset with this woman and told multiple While I was talking to them, a man popped out of the middle of nowhere and began lecturing me about how the way I was handling myself was inappropriate. He said my situation was getting him upset and that I need to talk to a manager behind closed doors. I asked him if he was a supervisor and he said no he was a client and tried to walk away though he was justified.
At that moment, I said, "Wow" which resulted in him turning around and looking at me with a hostile expression. "Are you going to talk some more because I will," I told him to worry about himself. "I am worried about myself, do you want me to get the manager and the supervisor?" I said that he was pushing my buttons and for him to leave alone.
At that point the staff had to move me, and I was in tears.
Of course you would be upset ! Your therapist had not been communicating well with you and you had found out they were on vacation for a month ! It is perfectly reasonable that you were upset.
It is is hard to say why they were so upset at you... there are so many potential factors that could have caused them to act out at you, that to try to figure it out could be nearly impossible.
Everybody is coming from a different place. Somehow you disrupted them in that moment. It is entirely possible that you caught them on a bad day.

As for the therapist:
No,I was out of town and I sent her a voice mail at on the week which was the beginning of the month stating that I could not make it and she never returned my call which is not like her. Then on the 8th, she messaged me and said she was sick and was postponing my appointment to the following Thurs. I only heard from her once via text stating that she could no longer text me but only can use this database which has to message in it, So I assumed just as much that our appointment was still on. When I got there, my name was not on the schedule which led to me calling me only to be told that she tried to message me via database and called the clinic to let me know she is very sick.
@ChirpCheep She also said she would be out for the rest of the month so I just decided to switch therapists at the center altogether because I could not keep dealing with someone who was inconsistent like that.
I think you did the right thing :) You need someone who is going to be dependable and keep your best interests in mind. I hope your new therapist works out !
