narcissistic abuse syndrome- cognitive dissonance trigger warning to NPD
i would like to make this clear, this is not to shame or belittle anyone in any way.
i am going to put this mildly and polite as i can, so not to offend. to those of you who are dealing with these particular anxieties from the psychological abuse, i am asked a lot as why do some people struggle to get the abuser out of their mind or why they wont leave their house after the abuser is no longer in their life. that type of psychological abuse is a form of hypnotism and the abuser is able to control the way you are thinking/feeling/emotional responses are all under their control. you are taken out of your own head and brought into theirs. when it is all over with in the sense this person has physically left, you are struggling to understand how they did this to you and that keeps you in the cognitive dissonance and thats why you still feel like this. when you are able to understand the magnitude of what happened, thats when your thought processes begin to become your own again. if you are going through this or are going to leave an abuser, get help from a psychologist immediately for your own sake. you can be thrown into gaslighting again if you dont recieve help
Thank-you for posting. Your information is very helpful, I believe planning is crucial too.
