@emilygrey she does that because she trusts you. She knows she can rely and trust ylu 100% so she acts like a brat pushing boundaries, but deep inside hershe loves and respects you. It is not your fault, just her turmpiled life till she will find peace and remember you again...keep loving her, as crazy as she is...

@emilygrey That fear will keep you safe. If anyone treats you that way again you will run from them. That fear is good - it's there to protect you. If nothing triggers your fear because nobody abuses you I think you wll start to feel better - but you have a lot of healing to do. She was not your friend. She was a dangerous person. I'm glad you no longer are friends with her.

@emilygrey

I'm so sorry this happened to you. From what you wrote, it looks like you got so used to the abuse that you couldn't tell how wrong you were treated and thus kept going back to her. That can be dangerous because, regardless of how afraid you are to find yourself in that situation again, you might not recognize when you are disrespected by someone and when you should stand for yourself and remind others of your boundaries. It's just a guess, that comes from personal experience. I think it will be a long road to recovery, that will teach you a lot about yourself and others and at the end enrich you as a person, I really hope it will smiley what helped me was, and still is, to think about every behavior my abusers used to display, and think about how "normal" it is, i think about me having this behavior with someone else: would I do it? Why? Why not? What would I do instead? What could be the reason that would lead me to that behavior? How severe/unforgivable would this behavior be? Also having someone else to help you in this process can really open your eyes. This should help you recognize what red flags to look for to spot abusive and disrespectful behaviors and how to react to them. I'm still terrible at recognizing my boundaries, but I've improved a whole lot
