Complex PTSD Story

I'm not really sure where to start because my story seems to go all the way back to early childhood. I was born and raised between an American father who is an international lawyer, and a Japanese mother who was a secretary in the same company that my dad was working in. I spoke with professionalism therapists and was told that mental illness is very prevalent in my family and that I was raised by a narcissistic father as well as a codependent and spoiling mother. Ever since I was a child I've always felt like there was something wrong with me comma but I wasn't entirely sure what it was. It turns out that this feeling of thought about there being something wrong with you it's quite common for people that are suffering from complex PTSD. As a child I was parentified by my father and put into many abusive scenarios by him. He was very full of himself could only think about his life and himself and although he would show care and affection for his family, it was only because it was more reflecting on him that it was on the children and the struggles and problems they were facing. At the age of about 12 or 13, I was exposed to pornography and alcoholism through my father, and this became a lifelong habit. Several months back I just got back from addiction rehab, but it wasn't entirely clear why the addiction was there in the first place. I realized that my sex addiction, p*** addiction, alcoholism, and drug abuse, were all manifestations of codependency. I didn't fully realize what codependency was until I began to do extensive research on it comma and I'm sure many of you are quite familiar with this topic as well. Right now I am struggling a lot with my addictions, as well as the ramifications and impact that my abusive upbringing had on me. I was often bullied in school, and severely abused by others. I never realized that these things were signs of danger and abuse. Right now I have been in therapy for my codependency and complex PTSD. Not entirely sure if the therapist and a psychiatrist can help me, but I'm hoping that something can change and can be done in order to heal and become a more sovereign individual. I resent not speaking about this sooner in my life because I feel like many problems could have been avoided had I spoken up about the issues and problems that I was having at home ironically when certain people did Cresson asked me what was wrong, and I showed my vulnerabilities, I was off and abandoned or neglected again. The adults around me time and time again prove to me that they were not responsible people I think this is very sad because I don't understand why we have teachers and supervisors if they are there to help us. I know not many people will be able to relate to my story and that everyone has gone through struggles and challenges in life. But if there are people out there that feel like they have similar stories that they would like to share I would be happy to talk and would love to hear your stories as well. I'm looking forward to getting to know this community better so that I might find some relief from my problems because I think connecting with other people is very important for recovery. Thanks for taking your time and reading.

It sounds like you've had some challenging traumatic experiences, and I'm glad you've reached out for support, here. I can relate in being a victim of bullying, and having others mistreat me.

Wishing you a good recovery.
