I know this sounds stupid
Last year I lost my cats. There were sixty of them. No, I don't collect them. People bring them to me, other cats bring them to me, I've been blackmailed into adopting some of them... They were feral cats who I ended up feeding and caring for. Unfortunately, things piled up and I had to take a small break from caring for them. I trusted the wrong person, and they did more harm in a week than I thought possible. Then someone who wanted something I had, reported me and my animals, and she got lucky enough to find them just when I wasn't the one caring for them.
I was considered insane, had my cats taken from me, and I lost everything.
I know all of you will look at this and won't understand why I still have nightmares, why I can't sleep at night, why is that a problem for me. Thing is, I was depressed, and those cats appeared at my lowest point, and I focused on caring for them, and started getting better. They, all of them, are my support and my family. And when their time in this world is over, I'll say goodbye and move on while remembering them. But they have been taken away, and to me it's like they took away my family and left me standing alone.
@ElderMaquia I don't think it sounds stupid at all. They gave you unconditional love and gave you a purpose and brought you happiness. I'm sorry that people you trusted took advantage of your trust and ended up causing the loss of your furry family. I would be heartbroken myself :( Would there be some way that maybe you could adopt a cat somewhere? I know it wouldn't be the same as before but it could be a start. It would give an animal in need a good home and it would give you a companion and someone to help you find purpose again
@mytwistedsoul I'm fighting to get them back. If I lose, it's a lot of money plus two years without animals. So, even if I wanted another animal to "patch myself" so to speak, I cannot get one. Thank tou for caring love.
@ElderMaquia I'm glad to hear that you're fighting for them and I wish you the best of luck. Two years is too long. Is there anyone in the neighborhood that could maybe vouch for you caring for them?
@mytwistedsoul, @ElderMaquia I agree with @mytwisted soul, caring for these animals gave you a purpose. Everyone needs a purpose. That's why people benefit from having structured time, a reason for getting up and getting out of the house or doing something constructive. That's just human nature. Getting someone to vouch for your caring character is also a smart move. Wishing you best of luck with the situation!
