PTSD

Last year I was rushed to the hospital because of a blood clot in my leg that had traveled to my lungs, heart, and brain. I suffered from a massive stroke causing a weakening in my left side. I was also dead for 4 minutes because I went into cardiac arrest. Although i survived all of this, I still have to deal with the horrors of my ptsd. I am constantly freaking out about my health. Whether it's a headache, leg pain, tingle, or twitch I instantly put it into my head that I am dying. It's very scary and hard to handle.

Hello Amanda

You have been through a horrible, life threateningordeal. I see you titled you post PTSD and assume you think you might besufferingfrom it? Here is a useful link about PTSD if you are interested but it seems you already know a lot about it:https://www.helpguide.org/articles/ptsd-trauma/post-traumatic-stress-disorder.htm

I wonder, how do you feel discussing this with a therapist/counselor in your area if it is at all possible? There are some very effective therapies that can be used successfully for PTSD and the processing of traumatic events (EMDR has beenextremely helpful for many people). Like you said, it is very scary to handle all those thoughts and feelings of immanent danger, maybe finding a therapist to help you process the event will be of great benefit.

Take care of yourself sooner rather than later. Another site you can have a look at if you want to: https://www.helpguide.org/harvard/benefits-of-mindfulness.htm Mindfulness is helpful and effective by keeping you in the present.
