Processing trauma
Does anyone out there no way to process trauma that isn't talking or writing about it.

Therapy is the best, if you have access to it and you can afford it. Find a good therapist through trusted references, like your doctor, friends, and post-graduate psychology institutions in your area. And then do Therapy.
I also encourage you to study the 7 Cup Guides on "Traumatic Experiences" HERE and particularly the one on "Acceptance & Commitment Therapy" HERE
You will find in both a wealth of information and therapeutical practices best suited for processing Trauma.
I wish you all the best !

Thank you for the resources.
@lionsaether
You are welcome !
EMDR is a great treatment (administered by a trained therapist) and does not require you to talk about the trauma- you are asked to bring up the memory in your mind and you think about it while wearing headphones that alternate short sound in each ear (or you follow a moving light with your eyes or you hold vibrating discs in each hand). The therapist checks in with you to see how you're doing and eventually the intense emotions about the memory drop in intensity sometimes to zero. Ultimately talking about it is the best but EMDR can be a good way to work up to that.
Does anyone know if EMDR desensitizes you from all visual aspects of the trauma you experienced. Example if a person caused your trauma are you desensitized from them or just the trauma they caused. Another example if you were in a traumatic experience, and that experience happens again are you automatically desensitized from it?
Thank you.

Thank you so much for explaining about exactly what EMDR Therapy really is on the client's side. It seems that it was quite helpful for you!
I have been trying to get in with someone qualified in EMDR from about a year before covid hit. .....hopefully by September it will become a reality. Thanks so much for letting me know what to expect.
Dear Lgm, I find in my CPTSD healing process that using art is meditative and so helpful to me. Any kind of art , drawing, painting, even mindful color books with colored pencils. I also just put stickers or glue pics into journal books. I believe art therapy uses a different part of the brain and it works for me. I hope this helps you in some way. Best, ABB
I did drawing as a form of therapy that helped
Wow. I’m so thankful for all the knowledge and resources. I had the same question. Thank you.
