Psychopathic/Narcissistic Abuse
I have dealt with a narcissist, a real one. I have loved a true narcissist...
And I was emotionally abused by one... and that kind of abuse is awful...
it causes narcissistic victim syndrome.... ptsd/ctpsd... and other troubling things
You can't really understand this until you experience it...
but I will try to explain it in the best way I could...
People with narcissistic personality disorder display the following symptoms..

These kind of people are in need of supply... or people to fill up their fragile hungry egos... people who make them appear good... popular and desired/wanted... to get that supply from powerful people, they have to weaken them and make them vulnerable... they do that through a certain process...
Idealize, devalue, discard....
it's the worst form of emotional abuse ever...
during the idealization phase, your dreams, your wants, your desires and even your own identity is mirrored... like a chameleon, they change their skin in order to trick you into falling in love with them... and once they've done that, the torture begins...
and comes the devaluation phase.... where you fall from cloud 9... they build you up so high so that you can fall so hard.... in that phase you're treated with indifference... and bad treatment in general
and they sprinkle a little bit of the idealization onto you... and eventually throw u in trash...
it can be repeated again... a few times till they're finally done with you...
it leaves the target severely traumatized... severely severely traumatized... it's one of the worst forms of abuse that you can experience.. it's an entirely different level of insanity....INSANITY...
so yeah... there is more insanity to it...but that's the basic ... there are other techniques used to torture... of course... but this is the very basic... you can research narcissistic abuse.. it's complete insanity..
I am so interested in finding someone who can support me along my healing journey... i am kinda dying...
@secretPrune9322 Hey, I have the complete opposite problem when compared to you; I think I might be a narcisst...I've never abused someone but I fit into the symptoms/characteristics you've described of a narcisst.
@dynamicIdea1603 the odd thing is... being able to see those behaviors within yourself kind of disqualifies you as a true narcissist.
We all have different behaviors but narcissists truly believe that others are responsible for the shortcomings in their lives.
Do you still think that you are a narcissist?
@dynamicIdea1603 Narcissists have a profound inability to self-reflect on their own behaviours. You admitting you could be a narcissist generally means you have the ability to self-reflect and look at what could be problematic thinking patterns and behaviours. Narcisissists don't accept there's anything wrong with them, ever. They deny it all. It's always everyone else's fault. And anyone holding a mirror to their behaviours would be subject to a huge rage as a result.
It's possible you could be histrionic, which can present similarly but is separate from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. If you can, talk with a psychiatrist. They'll listen to your concerns and you'll get a professional opinion of what you could be dealing with. Human psychology is complex, so it's best left to the professionals.
@secretPrune9322 hi my name is Justin I went through the same thing unfortunately my mother abused me because she is a narcissistic person because of what she did I am diagnosed with ADHD anxiety PTSD DID Nightmare flashbacks panic atticks Nightmares flashbacks
@ATJTTZ8 when we've been abused by narcissists, we get a mental condition called Complex PTSD... which includes symptoms from dissociative identity disorder... (DID)... so it's possible that the mental health professional misdiagnosed.... Read about complex PTSD see if you can relate
@secretPrune9322 went back to my psychiatrist she made me up a compy of my medical records and I was mistaken it does say complex PTSD so you are right about that thank you for having me double check my information I appreciate you telling me that now I know exactly what I have.
@secretPrune9322
I'm so sorry you had to go through that :( I was abused by a manipulative person for 3 years so I understand how hard it must be and it is valid. Your feelings and case are real and true and even if people say that's no reason to be traumatized or to "just get over it", just know they are wrong. You deserve to be treated with love and kindness and you deserve a healthy relationship.
Normal people don't abuse people. It is not your fault this happened and it will be alright.
@TheHoneyDollb thank you so much I truly appreciate it

Oh wow, do I hear you! I have been on a long journey of awareness and recovery from what I have only recently accepted was narcissistic domestic abuse. It IS deeply terrifying, crazy making and for me, it was sooooo insidious that I would read stuff on domestic abuse and coercive control and think "well, that didn't happen to me, so I'm making it up, being over sensitive etc". I definitely have symptoms of trauma - is it c-PTSD? Dunno and maybe it doesn't matter. What matters is listening to myself, honouring my truth, finding out for the first time who I am and what I want (I truly have no flipping clue!) learning to be compassionate and caring towards myself (sooooooo hard!), building and creating healthy boundaries and finding ways to be more adventurous/creative. I call it living an expansive life rather than a restrictive one, a life circumscribed by fear. I really and truly do not have it together, currently I am freewheeling between terror/panic and nothingness, pain, resentment, loss and bewilderment. But I know that I'm on a path (hopefully the right one!) and I'm so thankful to have a supportive and understanding therapist.
You are not alone by any means, and whatever the truth of your experience, know that that is truth and you deserve healing and wholeness. It sucks big time, but I believe and hope that it is possible-for us all. 🙏 peace.
