Recent traumatic event
So I'm going through something, basically a lot of things happened a few months back, i don't even know what to call it, but when I reported it, they called it stalking but there's other things as well. I'm going through the process of my school looking into it and the police, but it's really traumatic. They ask me to recount what happened and I do my best and pretend it's easy but the second I leave, I just have a panic attack. The smallest noise will trigger panic. I saw him the other day and nearly threw up. Everyone around me is telling me to just move on and not think about it. I can't understand why I feel this way, why anything that reminds me of the event will make me have a breakdown, noises, objects, memories etc. I have nightmares and intrusive thoughts about it, I'll be doing schoolwork and just suddenly it'll come on, so quickly that I can't stop it. I get frozen, and just collapse for a few minutes.
I feel so angry, having to see him on social media living his best life makes it worse but I have to keep doing it because they might want the videos for the investigation. Everything I say being analyzed to find any way that I might be lying, and then being unable to do anything for the rest of the day because it's so difficult to process.
Does anyone have any tips or advice? Like how can I manage these feelings? It feels like either anxiety or mild PTSD, but I dont want to self-diagnose. Has anyone else had to go through this process and how did you handle it?

It was incredibly brave of you to post your story here and ask for feedback. You've recently gone through what sounds like an incredibly scary and traumatic experience. You're doing the right thing by reaching out to the community for support.
Given what you have described and the amount of strees you're under, it seems natural that you're experiencing these symptoms. It sounds like your mind and body are reacting to a danger. From what I gathered, you are still seeing the person who has harmed you. It's understandable that you're still afraid.
One way to possibly prevent these symptoms from lingering long term is to seek help to address the feelings you have about the event so that you can start to feel safe when there is no immediate danger in your life.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me or other listeners if you'd like to further discuss your feelings. We are here for you. There is a self help guide available on this site as well called Traumatic Experience Help, unfortuantely the link isn't posting here.
Take care,
