life is cruel
I’ve come to accept something that most people around me still try to avoid life is cruel. Not in a poetic, character-building way, but in a brutal, senseless way that leaves real scars. I live with PTSD and dissociative identity, not because of some grand life lesson, but because life broke me more than once and kept going as if nothing happened. And still, people sugarcoat this reality, throwing hollow phrases and toxic positivity at pain they don’t understand. I don't respect that. I don’t need comfort wrapped in lies I need truth, even when it's ugly. Facing the cruelty doesn’t make me weak; it means I survived with my eyes wide open.

I agree, there is cruelty in the world. Trying to discount a person's experience with it is invalidating, and regardless of intentions, adds to the cruelty because it leaves the person who's experienced brutality feeling not only invalidated, but isolated.
Yes, you need truth. It sounds like you're truly grieving. I don't think it's helpful to try to talk you out of the feelings you need to process. Accepting the need to face the grief and allow the scars to form is essential to surviving. When it becomes manageable, that's when other realities can be considered.
@Spiritriver. This is a nice way of explaining this.
Dude, I won’t sugarcoat. I have a similar problem, so I know
PTSD for sure. People don’t care, unless they know that pain. But luckily here’s a good environment from what I have noticed. So feel free to share more, I don’t mind chatting

You are right life is not always poetic and pain is not always there to teach us something...it's just damage. The world keeps going on like nothing happened while you're left to figure out what went wrong or why me or how much more do I have to go through and picking up pieces of yourself alone. That doesn't build character, rather breaks it.
I think People want you to suffer quietly, or wrap your pain in cliches and poetry that make them comfortable... not you.
