I was molested when I was 11 by my stepfather. My mom and grandma know but all they did was tell me not to tell anyone and then went on as normal.

I’m 19 now and my stepfather still lives with us. Him and my family just act like nothing ever happened and it makes me feel like I’m crazy.

I still struggle with any kind of physical touch and keeping friendships. I feel like I can’t trust anyone. I just hate that what happened to me is still affecting my life. It’s like something inside me is broken and he just gets to keep living normally.

I can’t talk to anyone about this in real life but it just keeps weighing on me. I don’t know how to move past it.

How do I cope? How do I heal from this? Any advice is welcome.

Have you consider moving and starting fresh?

I’d love to but I’m not in a position where I can support myself financially

I was a victim of molestation and stalking in the past, which led to my phobia of men.

I've always been uncomfortable with skinship from men, but now I am even more uncomfortable.

And trusting people is the most difficult.

I try to avoid situations that I can avoid because it is very difficult to overcome.

The most important thing I want to tell you is that there is nothing wrong with you.

First of all, I think you should try living in an environment and communicating in a way that you feel comfortable with your mind and body (this is just my personal opinion).

I'm so sorry you have to endure this situation without support. I understand why you don't trust, how can you ?, when the adults who are supposed to protect you don't. I understand your questioning yourself, but don't , you did nothing wrong!

I have had a life changing trauma and I have to say professional therapy is the one thing that's helped me so much. I couldn't talk about my s.a. with anyone. Some suspect but dont know the depth of what happened to me. I can't share with someone who hasn't had this experience they will judge me and see me differently every time they look at me. It's weighing so heavy .

Anyway you are so incredibly strong to be in that home with your perpetrator. That's just so strong. I couldn't do it ...you are impressive. I recommend you get a full time job with benefits so you can get proper therapy.( Just my suggestion) That will help you start your self care journey to healing and a better life. I waited way too long to get help I'm a victim of child abuse too. I've learned in therapy Trauma doesn't go away , it festers until you find a safe way to process it and then you can move on . I think some of the worst things I have faced in my life have definitely made me see my true self. I wish you the best of everything life has to offer. you deserve the best!
