When I was around 10 my uncle molested me. I have come to understand that is what happened to me a while ago, but I still don't think I'm coping with it properly.
I want to tell my family, but my uncle died a few years ago and my family has always been very "opinionated" about people who wait to come forward with their abuse stories until after the abuser has died. I know that if I tell them they won't believe me and probably disown me. It sucks.

I feel for you .... i understand how it is very hard to come to grips with what happened and wanting to speak up .....did you just wait until now or is now when you came to terms with it....
I find people who have opinions often NEVER consider IF this item happened to them or their family ....... will they be conflicted and have a lot to think about yes ..... will they blame or not believe you.... I hope not. In the end it should be more about you finding peace.
