I told the guy I was dating about my rape and he ghosted me.
Yeppp smthng relatable
@blsfmm
I'm really sorry that he ghosted you after you opened up and told him that. Many things could factor as to why he ghosted. I have found that most times people are not sure how to support or even respond when something like this is shared. Then they panic and run off. You must have felt like you could trust him and be open and honest about things. I hope you're doing okay, and know that how you feel is valid and important.
Hi Jenna thank you for your message, I really hoped somebody would answer my thread. My anxiety is going through the roof. It took me ten years to gather the courage to tell a man I’m having a relationship with… and this is what I got. It’s so Damn cruel
@blsfmm
10 years is a long time, but I am glad you found your voice. I am sorry that things went the way after you got the courage. What about this situation makes you feel anxious?
Well first of all cause I love him. It was difficult to fully enjoy sex for the past ten years, and now with him I can, I always had to detach before - mind and body, during sex, and with him I don’t have to. It’s very special for me. I told him that in a letter that I left on his doorstep two weeks ago. Haven’t heard from him since. So heartbreaking, I cry everyday…
I mean it was basically a love letter. Told him about my story and explained why he is so special to me. That I think he might be the one. That somehow he healed me. I poured my heart into it. I feel so stupid.
@blsfmm
That is a lot of new info to put in one letter. As Jenna said, he may not know how to deal with the SA, adding the rest of it is just more he has to process.
I've had this happen several times in my past. I've always sent a quick note then left it up to them if they wanted to pursue. It's gone both ways.
I wish you well and hope he is just taking a long time to process everything.
