I was r*ped in a psych ward
title says it all. I was there after a suicide attempt and I was outside smoking, this old man crept up behind me and locked my arms so I couldn't escape and did what he had to do and just left me there all alone afterwards. I told the nurses, they told me, "he's just an old man, what do you expect" which filled me with such rage. I haven't been able to feel safe whenever I'm outside again. it's been 2 years. will this ever go away?

i am so sorry this happened to you, love. You went through something so horrible and im sorry they invalidated your experience just like that. @littlelamb111 That's so awful! You did nothing to deserve it. I agree with you that people must be held liable for their actions, regardless of their age.
thank you. but since we were in a psych ward and healthcare isn't the best here, all they told me was "he's just an old man, what do you expect" well thank you, I live in constant fear now! I wish I could've done something more.
