Lonely
Hello, I’m 17, and when I was 14-15 I was in an abusive relationship for almost a year. I understand what he did was sexual coercion and abuse, along with gaslighting and manipulation.
POTENTIAL TRIGGER WARNING
I don’t know if I was raped or not. I did give my consent the very first time, as it was curiosity, but after that I don’t know. He was pushy with it, and not just with sex. He made me do things after I repeatedly said no, so is that consent? Even in a healthy relationship now, I feel lonely with this. Every time I eventually gave my consent.

Hi friend ❤ Thanks so much for sharing this, I know it's really vulnerable, and that took a lot of strength. You're safe here.
First of all, welcome to 7Cups! Here is a welcome pack that I hope can be helpful as you get acclimated.
I'm so sorry to hear about that abusive relationship. It must have been so difficult for you, not only to experience that but to realize what was going on and to ultimately leave the relationship.
Consent is tricky, as it's something that not a lot of us were taught about. A way that might be helpful to think about it is that only yes with an exclamation mark counts without further conversation.
Any situation where you feel forced, uncomfortable, scared, or guilty to say yes is cocertion, and isn't concent.
To say that another way, maybe doesn't mean yes. Yes one time doesn't mean yes every time. "Yeah I guess so," means you probably need to talk about it first. Only "yes!" means yes.
Friend, you don't have to use the word rape if you don't want to. If that's a word that reclaims your power or explains what happened, use it! But please don't feel pressured to use any words that feel uncomfortable. It's your life, and you decide what counts.
I know you said it feels lonely, and I understand. It wasn't your fault. No ifs, but, or ands, friend, it wasn't your fault.
I hope this has been helpful, and that your discomfort eases soon.
Sending warmth 💜🌿
