My Story
I had a situation that happened and needed to talk about it. I am 47 years old who attended a hiking group. The hiking group had both men and women. One day there was a hiking group planned but was canceled because of weather. A few of the people, 2 women and 2 men decided to meet at a bowling alley to watch a music band. I didn't like the band so we went to another place to watch some music, do some line dancing and play pool. The one guy started to touch my hair, hold my hand, touch my back, then touch my butt and then smacked my butt really hard and it hurt for 4 days. I said it hurt and then he tried to hit it again and I backed away. The he kept on touching my private parts. I really felt violation especially because of the butt smack. I feel really bad that I didn't stop him grabbing me sooner. I feel bad that it was in a public place and in front of one of my friends.

Thank you for being brave and sharing this experience here. I am so sorry that you had to experience that rude and disrespectful behavior.
I am sure you were just really caught off guard by that behavior, I would be too. If you see him again, it might be a good idea to talk to him about how you felt and how disrespectful that is not to just you, but to any other person as well. Sometimes people feel that they can just freely touch others without permission, but saying something may help him learn that this is not okay and definitely not acceptable behavior.
And if you are not comfortable talking to him, that is ok too.
I did text him saying I didn't appreciate the butt smack. He said "His apologies for the butt smack".
This is sexual assault and so you should seriously consider reporting this. The text he sent you - now you have evidence. How dare he make you feel guilty for his actions - don't let him get away with it! Appears that some men feel like it is their right to treat women like objects for their own amusement.

Hey East,
I understand having a situation happen like this that you need to talk about. I understand attending a hiking group but it being canceled because of the weather. I'm sorry to hear the way the guy treated you. Violated your boundaries. What he did is not okay. I understand you being emberassed because your friend was there. But things like this happen. Men think they can do what ever they want and get away with it. I'm proud of you that you were comfortable enough to share this story. Please know you're not alone in this. Since this is SA I would suggest reporting it. 7 cups is here for you. Please take care of yourself and your mental health. I hope this message finds you safe and healthy❤️
I did report him to the leader and organizers of the hiking groups. I have given these groups as much information as I could about the incident. I dont see the advantage of telling the police.
Some men are truly just vile and inconsiderate on a level that is hard to comprehend. That’s the behavior of a narcissist or sociopath. I’m so sorry to hear you had to experience that.
If you see him again id simply remind him that his half assed apology isn’t enough consolation for him violating you and that if he’s truly sorry he’ll show it by staying a minimum of 10 feet away from you for the indefinite future.
