TW:SA

October 13th, 2025

Was SA’d once while pretty young. My wonder is if it’s possible to forgive and move on from this? I tell myself I have and feel I have but feel like other people who are aware force it upon me to relive it so often that I am wondering if I’m wrong for moving on. I feel it’s healthy for me to not let this define me as it was one time and I am over 20 years older now…. Just thoughts I’ve been struggling with.

@warriorxbritt thank you for sharing this with us 💖 they say you need to forgive to be able to move on. I believe that is a unreasonable thing to ask from anyone. But to accept and move on is more of a reasonable goal to work towards. And if you've managed to do that then that's amazing you've done really well 💖💖 hugs you tightly 💖 I'm always here for you, we all are 💖

@warriorxbritt there is nothing more personal and subjective than the way you choose to deal with a SA. There's no universal right or wrong way. It's up to you and no one else to determine what works best for you. If you prefer to just not think about it, move on and don't look back, it's your right to do so and other people should respect your will.

If you can, try letting them know that it's a personal matter and you want them to avoid bringing it up unless you choose to talk about it. If they respect you, they should also respect your preferred way to deal with it. If it doesn't work and those memories still influence your life in one way or another, then you can try to deal with it differently and see if something else helps you more. But first, you should have the chance to deal with it on your own terms and give yourself time to heal.
