Triggers

I have been dealing with triggers from my sexual assault a lot lately. But I recent school project has me reliving the issues a lot more. Even though people in my life say I am doing better. It doesn't feel like it. It feels like my ptsd is this monster that will always be there and get me when I am weak. I just feel lost in these feelings.

Hey, just wanted to share a few thoughtsheart
PTSD/trauma, in a way, will always be a part of you. It has always been a part of me too, but it is up to us to decide whether it will take control of us or not. Healing is a really really long process and oftentimes, it seems like we're back at square one but don't give up on it.
This school project may prove to be more triggering than others but it will prepare you better for future situations. I'm not sure if it's possible for you to talk to your teacher/professor about it. They might be able to suggest something to make it easier for you..It's not a weakness to open up about triggers in the same way that reaching out for help is never a weakness either..
I noticed that you had recently joined the trauma support subcommunity and I'm very proud of you for taking this step and opening up in the forums.
Take care of yourself~Sierra
