I’ve been through a bit of sexual assault in my life that has really messed me up. i finally met a guy i really like at the beginning of this year. he was just away for six months and just got home. i initiated that we have sex and we tried and i had a panic attack. shaking, hyperventilating, crying. he stopped right away but i feel horrible about myself and i don’t know what to do and i’m so upset i just want it to stop

Welcome sqeakystool, cha

I'm sorry to hear about what you have been through I know how difficult that can be. I understand how it can change a lot in the brain and all the symptoms of PTSD that come with it. I'm glad to hear that you met that you really liked this year. Those can be sometimes incredibly very hard to find. I understand you initiated the action that followed. I understand that you tried and you couldn't do it. It seems like a normal reaction especially after what you have been through. I know panic attacks can be so hard and difficult to deal with. I'm glad the guy understood and stopped. You shouldn't feel horrible about yourself for having the reaction that you did. Because trauma can affect us in the wat as it did to you. If you ever feel comfortable maybe tell him what happened so he can better be able to support you. I understand you don't know what to do and that can happen when something like this triggers your trauma again. It's valid that you want all this ptsd to go away. i would want that for you too. If you ever consider trauma therapy I'm sure it could really help you and many people out there in the world who have experienced similar things. I hope the best for you and please stay safe. Know that 7 cups is by your side no matter what.
