this is my first time posting on one of these so i'm a little nervous but i need let out what i have been feeling for so long. i was sexually assaulted when i was 13 years old by someone who constantly manipulated me and took advantage of me emotionally/physically. at the time i didn't know what he did was wrong and i constantly made excuses to justify it. since then i have only told one person in my life about what happened and i still struggle to form relationships with people despite it happening years ago. i get angry because i see this person on social media being happy with a wife and newborn daughter yet here i am struggling to even connect with people and let them in because of what he did to me. i have a hard time trusting people won't hurt me and use me like he did. i feel so much relief letting this out since it has constantly been a heavy weight i was carrying by myself.

@yeohwa
I can't imagine how painful it was for you to be abused, both emotionally and physically, at such an young age. I'm glad to hear you've let yourself open up, even if to only one person. It's an important step on the path to healing. *offers hugs*

It *is* difficult seeing someone who hurt you so badly, living a normal and happy life. Trust issues are normal and its okay to be skeptic about letting others into your life and see the vulnerable side of you..

One day, that person will face the consequences for his actions but meanwhile, I hope you can find a way to not let it get the better of you..Healing and getting better is showing them that you're much stronger and better than they ever could be.. I'm glad to hear letting all this out makes you feel betterheart

If you want to talk more on a 1-to-1 chat, feel free to put out a general request or message a listener from the browse listeners queue.

Take care of yourself, today and everyday~Sierra

@yeohwa Sorry to dive in saying this after you've said how hard it is to speak up, but please tell the police about this person, I know it may be hard but the fact they have a newborn daughter is extremely concerning, also your feelings are completely valid and I hope it gets better for you ❤️ maybe therapy will help overcome it.
