Focus On Supportive People

June 1st, 2017

After having been bullied, one may feel a range of negative emotions, be upset, and feel pain at being hurt at the hand of others. At this time, I feel it is important to focus on the people who are close to you, and/or who will be able to support you after this challenging time. These can include: family members, friends, fellow students/co-workers, people in groups, counsellors, fellow Church participants, and even people in online support group environments, as well as other people whom you can trust.

Keep a circle of positive people in your life. Disassociate with anyone negative, or who brings you down. Strive to limit exposure to people and places which act as negative influences in your life.

Who is in your positive social circle?

Great advice! My mother phrases it as "cutting toxic people out of your life". My positive social circle includes a core group of friends in separate spheres of my life so that I can turn somewhere with different scenarios

Thank you. By eliminating any negative relationships with people, or limiting contact with negative people, you can bring more positivity into your life.

Thanks for this wonderful reminder ,Isabelle. I have too many toxic people around me that I try to avoid.

I need to work on a positive social circle. I am not sure where to begin...
