I visited my grandmother's grave for the 1st time, ever, in 15 years. I'm emotionally raw and dont know how to handle it.

@sanbar62

Hi there, that's crazy to hear that after 15 years, you've finally visited your grandmother's grave for the first time! No wonder you aren't sure how to handle your emotions. I wouldn't blame myself if I were you. Learn to accept your emotions and simply feel them, rather than trying to find a logical reason for them (sometimes we just feel things and we can't always explain why we feel them) or stop yourself from feeling them.

Thank you for that. I feel so open. All I had growing up was her and my mom. Now I only have my mom. So.edays I just feel heavy and empty at the same time. I wouldn't allow myself to feel anything about her Passing. I won't even want to talk about her because it made me cry or upset and now I'm just full of tears.

My heart goes out to you. Dealing with the loss of a loved one, especially when they were one of the few or the only major part of your family support system can be earth shattering. I have lost a grandmother too. She was really my Mom to me. It was brave of you to go to her grave, that is so hard. You knew the time was right, and you also know how you need to process it. I wish you great healing on this journey. 🙌💖
