Encanto
Hey guys!
I just watched Encanto yesterday on Disney and I personally thought it was an amazing film!
Even if it was set in a different culture and setting from mine, there are so many things that made it seem fun and vibrant putting a desire to appreciate that culture even more! Also the music set for this film was *chef's kiss or so that's what I thought haha!

I really thought this movie was great because of its relatable themes that I found even when I'm part of a completely different culture. This movie hit so many common things that I found within my own household and family that I couldn't help but feel more united to the seemingly drastic differences every culture has! It's refreshing to see this movie emphasize that what makes us human beings and valuable is that we're simply us. We perhaps may have gifts and things that make us stand out, but we shouldn't be letting that define us if we don't want to live by those standards!
For anyone who watched Encanto, what did you personally get from the movie?
And also what was your favorite track from the movie? (personally mine was What Else Can I Do)

I am so happy you brought up this topic! I personally loved the movie so much. For me, the main message is that we should recognize that we are all special and valuable and that all people are equal.
I am very excited to see that Disney is making me learn more about other cultures. I love all of their new fairytales as each has a different setting - Moana - Polynesia, Coco -Mexico, Raya and the last dragon - One of the Asian countries. I think it is very inspiring.

Glad you found the movie as enjoyable as I did! I agree with you, Disney venturing in these new types of cultural settings are super refreshing and original. I think it's a great step in helping everyone understand the different cultures that exist out there!

Encanto taught me that I don't have to stay in that box that society put me in. I am allowed to color out of the lines.
My favorite track was Surface Pressure (I really love Luisa, she's awesome), closely followed by We Don't Talk About Bruno

That's true! I really like that theme because when you have gifts for certain things, society will always try to tell you what to do with them, but at the end of the day it's your gift and your life. You ultimately should be deciding what you want to do with your own life.
I really like Surface Pressure too! I think that song really showed how much issues Luisa was going through in the family.
