Way of the River 🌊 What is a lesson you didn’t know you needed to learn?

One of the most powerful ideas from the Way of the River series for me comes from Part 2: the concept of "The Rock as a Teacher." When we are navigating our own kayaks, we often see the "rocks" (our challenges or setbacks) as things that are just in our way, that shouldn't be there. But the river teaches us that every rock actually helps shape the flow of the water and gives us a chance to learn how to steer better.

My question for you is: What is a lesson you didn’t know you needed to learn?

Is there a "rock" in your life that you’ve started to see as a "teacher"?

Did you learn something unexpected about your own resilience? Was there a "Mr. 8" that actually led you to a better path?

As the proverb goes, "the obstacles in our path are not blocking the way; they are the way."

The rocks aren't there to stop us; they are there to teach us how to flow better.

Comment below and let's share in these unexpected wins!

@Heather225 I need all the Mr. 8s in my life that I can get. I'll even welcome Mrs. 8 and the entire family... because I know it'll help me in the long run. As mentioned, it's for my ultimate good and there will always be something unexpected that pops up. It's these things that come by surprise that let's me recognize my strengths. And sometimes I need to struggle, fail, and sink so I can find out what I'm truly capable of. That's when I will know what I can overcome. And if Mr. 8 doesn't break me then I know I'll get through it and more with the help of God. ❤️ I've many lessons in life I need to learn. And the same ones that keep appearing to me time after time are the ones I've not yet took what I needed to learn from it. I'll get there eventually, I will. Wish me luck, y'all! Xoxo.
