requesting infos
Hi! I noticied a growing number of listeners who use external site for booking chats (like youcanbook.me), and that many of them request our email address for booking a chat. some "facultative", and some put it "mandatory".
For me, it is clear that violate the community guidelines (facultative or not) and MY PRIVACY (for those it's needed) or it prevents me from having a chat because i don't want share those infos (still for those it's mandatory to give an email). it's very not fair to requiere personal infos for book a chat. I think you should take a look in it and making sure that listeners don't request those kind of infos.
Just to be clear....Any request on a Listener's profile page that demands personal information in order to make an appointment with them IS breaking 7 Cups rules. 7 Cups is 100% anonymous. No Listener or Member is to engage in any activity that reveals personal information. Penalties for breaking that rule can result in losing you account. This site has a 'Book Now' in Listener profile that is anonymous to the Listeners AND Members. No one should use anything except that.
@AutumnLeigh But they're not demanding any personal info on 7 cups. 7 cups can't control what listeners do outside of the 7 cups website.

I understand what you are saying, however if someone makes a poor decision to connect with a 7 Cups participant off-site after meeting here, it's not a wise or safe thing to do. Things have happened in the past that make the 'totally anonymous' rule an important one to keep. I also believe that tort is actually talking about is what information they are uncomfortable giving with using a bookme site for scheduling appointments with a Listener....

I meant to say this site has a calendar for Listeners and I believe (my opinion) is that no one should use anything that asks for personal information to make an appointment. I know others disagree, but My Calendar along with messaging for appointments is the only way I'll set up any schedule.

Tortue and AutumnLeigh, you are both correct. Anything that requires personal contact information in order to connect with a listener is against 7 Cups community guidelines. Using that website to book has been great but I agree that it is a bit of a grey area. Do you all think that if we required that emails not be given that would make it more appropriate?

all like are google and twitter accounts specific for 7cups that does not reveal our identity or personal infos.
but members should not have to create one for booking chats with listeners because those ones request an email ...
using other sites is okay. requesting our email or any personal info is not.

I've looked at this from both Member and Listener point of view and this is what I see....
Pros for booknow are: easy to keep track of hours Listening (though the site does that as well) and ability to fill a Listener's schedule faster. Sincere Members can book a time with you when you aren't online.
Cons are: I can't set a schedule without constantly changing my availablity hours because of my other job's changing schedule. Members have to put in an email account (the reason this thread is open) but someone you have banned in the past might create a 'ghost' email address and book you- taking an hour out of your schedule time. Sincere Members might book a rare 'Troll Listener' and have a bad experience. You may be ill or unavailable during some of your scheduled time, so new Members with an appointment are unable to get a notice from you that you have to reschedule....unless you use the email which is against our policy. WITHOUT a valid email, Listeners can't protect themselves from trolls.
I'm here for the protection of both our Listeners and Members. Of the 'pros' I see now, only filling your schedule faster is something that the site doesn't already do. And new Members can message us for appointments. Even if we lose the 'Mandatory' email address for those booking, I see a lot of potential problems for both Members and Listeners. In my humble opionion, I believe setting up future appointments after a session and accepting PMS while online is still the safest way to go.

It is possible to remove the email field from your booking form from your youcanbook.me account. Here is how:
1. Log into your youcanbook.me account.
2. Click on "edit profile"
3. You will now be able to see several tabs across the top. You should be on "basic," but you will also see "times," "advanced," and "booking form."
4. Click on the "booking form" tab.
5. There are four fields, by default. The last one is "Email."
6. Click the trash can icon to the far right, for the email row/field.
7. A pop up comes up asking to confirm your choice. Click "Confirm."
8. You can also then change the default fields like "First Name" and "Last Name" to "Member Name" or simply "Username," depending on how you are booking appointments.

@Pat thank you explain the process, I hope that listeners will use it for update easier their form and no longer request our emails.
Hey guys!! I just wanted to share something that I use, I use setmore. It only makes it so that you require one thing and I require people to give me either their name or 7cups username :) or neither if they feel uncomfortable with either

I was chatting earlier with NorthernLights--and I like the one they are using setmore.com. It seems more userfriendly for 7 Cups since it can be set up to have a spot for member name (or guest name or whatnot). Might be worth checking out :)

on this site, you also need to set the details requested by defaults, like amounts ($), phone number (NEEDED), email and street address (those two are facultative but still needed) so it's comparable to youcanbookme....

Can you click on the booking link on NorthernLight's profile page? I went through the schedule process on their page and it only required a name and they were able to set it up to request a 7 Cups username.

It seems like this was mostly resolved?
I would like to add one thing: bookme asks for the email so it can send a reminder email to the member. It does not at any point give the email to the listener (to my knowledge, please don't quote me on that, that is just my understanding).
So while yes, you have every right to be concerend about that and are never obligated to give out your email, I'm about 95% positive that it's an automated email that is sent out and your personal information is not actually seen by the listener.
There is though at least a 5% chance I'm completely wrong in which case refer back to the above resolutions previously aforementioned.

Yes it does gives the infos to the listener. I use this site for professional purpuse and then ask this info, and it sends it to me, so I can later send details for better getting prepared to our appointment, advise them if i cancel or reschedule, they also can cancel it. Very useful, but not appropriate for 7cups.
Those settings are by default on this site, it just takes a few minutes to the listener to change the infos that collect. Not a big deal, but they have to do it.

@MonBon No information is given out. You can set bookme so you do not have any information on the member and no email. All I ask is whether or no someone has spoken with me before booking and if not, to do so before requesting a booked chat. I have no personal information of the member at all. I only know their username to book them in. Nothing more. It can be set up so no personal information is collected

yes, exactly. listeners have to edit it manuelly for removing the collect of informations. 
it's not very hard. but have to be done. because by default the site does collect it.
