ADHD/ADD in adults

Hey guys. I'm new here and I don't even know if I am supposed to post something like this here, but anyone being diagnosed with ADHD/ADD as an adult here? Or even as a child, it doesn't really make a difference. I was diagnosed in my 24 and even though it does explain a lot, I still struggle with vicious circles of wanting/having to do so much but being paralyzed and ending up doing nothing... for days even. Plus the feeling of helplessness and anxiety from not doing anything and realizing there are so many more severe mental issues and actually feeling guilty for feeling that way, yay, haha. Anyone though?

@80AD Yes, diagnosed in 2018 with ADD (non-hyperactive). I was 39yrs of age then. I might have displayed hyperactivity as a child, I can't remember. or maybe what shows as hyperactivity in most, emerges as a different symptom in a few. My current medication, dexamphetamine makes me ramble, sidetrack and forget what I was just saying. No different to my experience with 'speed' I used/abused in my teens-early 20s. But the remaining incapabilities were starkly apparent.

Unable to follow complex or basic common text, especially explinations, unless something grabs my attention and interest, when I can't discover enough. Not a compulsion, but rather a true fascination while everything else is brushed aside as too difficult. No problem with reading or writing, but if I'm not intersted, I cannot follow the print. Easily distracted. Attention span with a mind of it's own, deep and intricate with things others find pointless, but unaccessible when needed the most. Dropping out of school when suddenly nothing made sense, but when looking around the room everyone else was busy writing, reading and in deep thought. Boredome! Can't think of anything to do. Subject which most others find a doddle seem over-complex. Side tracking, others cannot follow me. Blank mind. Distactedeasily - a single page email can take hours to write and edit, often never even sent. Self experimentation with many labelled nootropics, some of which were bringing me amazing clarity whether natural & otherwise. Lifelong stark addiction to caffeine, and the most severe withdrawals. Forgetfullness. Inability to multitask. Frustration, appearing as irritability, temper tantrums and bouts of anger (never physical, thank heavens). I could say more but minds gone blank for now.

Having comorbid treatment-resistant major depressive disorder, social phobia & agoraphobia complicates matters. Honestly, I don't find any of my labels helpful, they aren't my labels, and the treatment and the ones reating extremely narrow minded. Spiritual Awakening is more a priority for me than anything else.

Bare in mind, nothing is set in stone, and these are ONLY my individual experiences.
