@Amanda84 I forget where my Church hurt story is. :( But I know it is important for Christians to be connected to a good body of believers. Even Jesus traveled with 12 friends.

@tryingtosurvive2024 I'm sorry to hear that, sadly there are many people in church promoting their own ideologies rather than the word of God.
@Amanda84 I have thought about this for many years. I've obsessed over it. I don't know where the line needs to be. But every Church denomination, or nondenominational has got a set of beliefs that sets them apart from each other. I always prefer those to be based in scripture. But even when they are based in scripture it doesn't automatically mean they are correct. I think heaven owes me and my parents a brownie point, for being tolerant of this. But those Churches didn't show the same tolerance for us. In fact to make matters worse, I don't think many of those people even cared enough. We tried to make friends, and those people weren't even interested in getting to know us. Which means they didn't even get to know what our differences in theology even were!
@tryingtosurvive2024 I have known people all my life who in their faith think they are superior and look down on people, or think they know better, they pray to impress, they pray to be arrogant, they pray for all the wrtreasons and yet people flock to them. I am the opposite, my faith is driven by love, by tolerance, by mercy, by being an example of peace, not by superiority, not by thinking I know it all, I always ask myself, is my prayer life making me a better and kinder person? And if not, then I'm doing something wrong.

@Keanah It would be unreal not to overthink things 😊 I wish to be happy, but happy in myself, happy with who I am and to not look for affirmation anywhere else 🥰
There really lies true happiness, not sure why it is so difficult! Sometimes it seems the more racional we are the worse it is to reach that! Wishing you find that happiness!! I can see already that you are a kind and caring person ☺️
