Hi everyone! 💚

I'm Lex, one of the listeners here on 7 Cups.

First, I just wanted to say how happy I am that you've found your way to the Newbie Hub. Whether you're here looking for support, connection, a safe place to talk, or simply somewhere to belong, I'm glad you're here.

☁️ Mental Health Matters

Mental health is something that touches all of our lives.

Sometimes we're doing okay. Other times we're struggling more than we'd like to admit. We all carry things that other people can't see stress, anxiety, sadness, loneliness, self-doubt, grief, frustration, and everything in between.

One of the most important things we can do for ourselves is talk about it.

Opening up can feel scary. It can make us feel vulnerable. But keeping everything bottled up often becomes much heavier than sharing it.

You deserve a space where you can be honest about how you're doing.

📝 Brain Dump Zone

This post is for exactly that.

A brain dump.

A vent.

A place to let things out.

No need to make it sound perfect.

No need to organize your thoughts.

No need to worry about being judged.

If something has been weighing on your mind, this is your chance to put it down for a little while.

Write a sentence.

Write a paragraph.

Write ten paragraphs.

Whatever feels right.

💭 Discussion Question

What is on your mind? (Share as much or as little as you’d like. Let it all out, no holding back. I will respond.)

What's been stressing you out?

What's been making you smile?

What's been keeping you up at night?

What's something you wish you could say out loud?

I don't even know where to begin.

All my life I have been able to put aside my traumatic childhood. I have been strong. I have gotten myself here, to 26 years old, even when I didn't plan on making it past 13. But now everything is different. My anxiety isn't just anxiety anymore. I can't do the things that I am supposed to do to live a normal life. I can't maintain a job. I'm putting stress on my partner. It's all getting worse.

And during all this, I can't stop my brain from going back to those times in my childhood. I can't help but try to pick up the scattered pieces and try to find solutions, even when I know very well that there may not be any. It's like these experiences put me in a chokehold. I've been floating along up until now, and it's all bursting out. I am overwhelmed. I am burnt out. I am scared. I am nervous. I am I am I am.

I am unsure what to do from here. I need to work. I need to pay bills. But leaving my front door causes me to have a huge panic attack. I can't eat. I only feel safe at home.

My dissociative disorder is flaring up majorly. I am scared to drive sometimes. I am scared to exist anymore. I just want relief. I just want to go back to in person therapy. I want to feel okay in my body. I don't want to feel scared or panicked. I want the memories that haunt me to go away and finally leave me alone. I want a family. I want to have family. I want support from the people who were supposed to be there for me during this lifetime. I need their help and they won't even pay attention to me. The only ones that do, are the ones that hurt me more. (My mom)

I am tired of seeking relief. I am tired of my anxiety disorder taking over my life. I want to live comfortably and be able to enjoy what I can still get out of this life. And more importantly I want to be okay to be good for my partner. Because I love them so much and I don't want to negatively impact them in anyway. I want to be a positive addition to their life. I want to care for them and take care of them, but I can barely take care of myself.

I feel so alone. I don't feel like most people around me understand. They don't bother to take the time to understand how intensely this is affecting me. They're quick to say I need vitamins and exercise.

I just don't know what to do anymore.
