Has anyone had any experience with stopping zypxera, I've finished the second week and I'm desperate.

Yes. I was on it for about 3 years. A small dose though. I read online very bad things about its side effects and all and it was worrying me and I attempted to taper it off on my own. I couldn't. I would cry endlessly and unable to sleep like a deep depression thing so I went back to it in a couple of days.

I was praying Id improve and the doctor will start tapering it off. Luckily that happened!

This time there were withdrawl symptoms in the weeks that I cut the dose. But not as severe as the time I experimented myself. I went from 5 to 2.5 and then to 0 and both times I remember having some sleeplessness, depressive feelings. Having the doctor by my side gave me confidence. I reached out to him about these things and he told me to hang in for a few days and these symptoms would go away and they did.

Im off it since a year now. Doing absolutely fine :)

Also I remember going on q u o r a and seeing a lot of people share their experiences with olanzapine. You can read those too...

@CreamyyyThank you very much for your answer. I stopped at 2.5 and it's terrible. How much did you stop at after consulting with the doctor?

Like I said I had 2 phases. From 5 to 2.5 , stayed on it for around 1 month and then went from 2.5 to 0. Both times there were withdrawl symptoms for a few days that felt quite bad but after 3/4 days my body adjusted

If you're unable to adjust, talk to your doctor. Its the best way to go about it. They know all your history. They may keep you on it a bit longer or devise another way to taper off the medicine for you.

From my knowledge, olanzapine is given for psychosis or even major depression when its not manageable by a single medicine and a combination is advised (which was my case).

@CreamyyyThat's how my drinking and tapering process went. I was prescribed for anxiety and derealization. I'll call my doctor today. Thank you, this means a lot to me.

Medication doesn't work without a lifestyle change. Let me know if that's something you're struggling with!
