I’m just tired. (Tw: mention of inpatient/outpatient)

I’m honestly just so tired of everything. So much has happened the past few weeks and I’ve been more depressed than I have ever been. I genuinely don’t know what to do, if anyone has any tips on how to help manage emotions or motivation or even just stopping worrying as much it would be really helpful. One more thing, how do I tell my parents I need inpatient/outpatient again?

@aspen268

Im sorry to hear that your going thorugh this but some general advice is to focus on soemthing you love for me its going outside I get the feeling of being tired and your ok to feel that way but doing seomthing that makes you happy like a hobby is always helpful

As for parents I get how nerve racking it is but maybe do it with a sibling you trust by your side or talk to others you feel more comfortable with as a way of getting the idea out there and practicing that conversation

@aspen268

I'm sorry to hear about your bad news aspen. I hope things get better for you. Maybe some deep breathing would help with better managing emotions. I find meditation helps with managing my emotions. To focus on worrying less, focusing on things you are thankful for and your blessings in life.

@aspen268 Hi. Sorry you’re feeling this way. Here is something that sometimes helps me when I’m worried. Everyone worries, and everyone worries a lot more than is warranted. There is an old say about this, it goes like this, “I have witnessed many tragedies in life, most of which never happened.” We worry habitually probably because it kept our species alive. But we don’t so much need to get eaten by wild animals like our ancestors did. Anyway, none of this is meant to discount your worries, but just to say that most other humans have learned they worried too much. So, something a little more specific is this thought, “I’m not a fortune teller. I can predict the future, but I suck at getting it right.” Another trick is saying to ourselves, “What is the worst that could happen?” That isn’t always the best trick depending on the circumstances. The point is, there is indeed an external reality, but we almost always make it worse. Having worry go away is often what we want. But sometimes the best we can do is not engage in it.

- I hope this helps. All the best.

@aspen268 Also if you’re physically tired, it makes things really so much heavier. If you’re not getting enough sleep, nutrition, etc. Try to address those as well.
