Impossible to return to work!

Hello. I'm wondering if anybody here has attempted to return to work after a psychotic episode. I see the Psychological Fitness For Duty exam as required by my state law, but it seems nobody wants to do them. Nobody can just clear me to return to work a week later, after an isolated incident.

I understand, nobody wants to roll the dice from psych docs to employers, but they want me to complete treatment and remain unemployed during the process, does that sound about right? I have to either get a loan or start packing up my wife and 5 children to live on the streets while I do therapy?

I've been trying to resolve this for a week and find no solution. Anybody else dealt with this and know what to do? I've been calling all clinics in my city and looking online for a week. This is certainly most detrimental to my mental health! 🥺
