Welcome to 7cups, my friend. We are so glad to have you here. I am sorry to hear, that you're emotionally burnt out. When, you get like that, what things have you tried, that was helpful in preventing burn out?

Hiii!
Hello
@christina11202 Hi there Christina. I'm so sorry you're struggling with anxiety. I know how absolutely debilitating it can be.
When you're first starting to get control of your anxiety or manage it, it can be really tough. The thing to remember is to stick with the management techniques you choose UNTIL they start to help. This I found is very important. I used to expect that it should work immediately. But someone once said something crucial...we spend a long long time ruminating over the anxiety so it will take as long to ease it. So stick with the management techniques. They WILL start to ease the anxiety and help you get back on track.
The techniques that I found useful when I was first starting out were these:
1. Accept: Accept that anxiety will appear every now and then. Don't stress about it. Treat it as a pesky mosquito that shows up every now and then. Whatever you are anxious about, you will figure it out in time. The anxiety may pop up every now and then. Don't panic about it. Even though its uncomfortable, just let it be there.
2. Ignore (Or shelve it): Keep shoving your anxiety aside. This is not ignoring the problem. Its a way of accepting it and not letting it bother you. When you can shelve your anxiety, it gives you space to find solutions. So when it pops up, just say to yourself ok I feel anxious about this thing but I'm just putting this anxious feeling at the back of my mind for now while I (brainstorm solutions, or work on something else or do an activity etc...). This is extremely hard to do in the beginning because it can get really loud and the symptoms may be really uncomfortable but stick with it and it lessens, giving you breathing room. And as you keep ignoring, not paying attention to it and paying attention to your solutions, it gets less and less and eventually you'll sort out your problems and you won't feel anxiouis anymore.
Mornings are the worst. So if you feel panicked in the mornings or you're awakened by your anxiety, just take a deep breath, roll over and say...Oh not now, I'll deal with you later.
These techniques have really helped me. I can now get my to do lists done. And I can divert my attention to finding some solutions for myself. I hope it helps you.
And don't worry, there are plenty of techniques just like these that are so helpful and will have you back to yourself in no time. ANd the lovely folk here all have wonderful tips like these. You must absolutely also chat one on one with a listener. ANd try the sharing circles. They're great.
Wishing you peace and calm and joy in the coming weeks Christina. Hang in there. You've come to the right place. You're going to beat this.
@christina11202 Oh and eat well. Even though you won't feel like it much, it will help keep your energy up. Which helps exercise the techniques that will ease your anxiety. Speaking of exercise, you won't feel like doing it but do it. It CREATES ENDORPHINS. The antidote to anxiety. You can make it by exercising. Exercise doesn't have to mean weights and all that. Simple walking, dancing, just move.
