I made some friends from 7 cups!😚

What made you join 7 cups?
I needed help processing my trauma and healing from it. I was in a bad place - constant negative self-talk and thoughts. You were actually recommended by ChatGPT.
What made you stay?
I made a very small bit of progress and I started to feel better. It comes and goes, but I come back every day to help process what I've been and still going through. Every bit helps.
How are you feeling cups, does it help?
The information I get every day teaches me a little bit more about trauma and how it affects the brain, how we process it and how to heal from it.
Which one is more likable to you, being a member or a listener?
I prefer to be a member.
@NobleSeeker
I have been a listener in the past, but this time I'm taking it very seriously. I want to go into Peer Recovery Support, and I feel like this is the perfect place to volunteer my time while gaining important listening skills. Besides, I love helping people and I'm very chatty. ☺️ I just treat people how I'd want to be treated if I was in their shoes.

I joined 7 Cups not knowing what it really was going to do, but all I knew was I could try, try finding someone to understand, connect, or just listen. I had little hope but tried it out, now I found people who KNOW, which I've never had in the face-to-face world, I'm grateful
I'm a member and I'm not healed, but 7cups has been helpful with the work/path, listers, and the other members
I would 100% recommend it to someone in need
I joined 7 Cups because I want to help people feel heard, seen, and safe—especially when the world makes them feel like they’re “too much.” I know what that’s like. I used to think I was addicted to pain, but really, I was just desperate to be understood. I stayed in toxic places and relationships because pain felt familiar. And in some twisted way, it felt safe. For a long time, I chased perfection like it was a finish line—trying to glow up, get stronger, master skincare, fix myself. I thought if I finally did everything “right,” I’d feel like I was enough. But perfection is a moving target, and I’ve learned that when your worth is always on trial, even resting feels like failure. Eventually, I realized my value isn’t based on validation or appearances. It’s who I am on the inside—and yeah, that sounds cheesy, but it’s real. I’ve been through a lot: hallucinations, suicide attempts, trauma, anxiety, depression, loneliness—you name it. As a kid, I was always told I was too dramatic, too emotional. I didn’t think I’d even make it to high school. But now I’m in college, healing, thriving—even when it’s still hard. Sometimes I catch myself smiling for real. Sometimes I realize I slept through the night. That’s how I know I’ve grown. Life didn’t hand me my passions—I had to create them. I built myself from scratch. And now, I want to be the kind of support I once needed. Becoming a crisis line volunteer and eventually a therapist is my dream, and 7 Cups felt like the perfect first step.
Because it’s never really the pain we crave—it’s connection. It’s being chosen. It’s being understood. That’s what helped me survive. Now, I want to pass that on.
Reach out to me for anything; I am here to listen.
@NobleSeeker
1)I joined 7cups because I'm tired of pretending to be fine, It's exhausting. And I'm just looking for a community that listens, understand and provides support
2) I just joined today, we'll see about staying
3)I guess I'll find out soon, but for now, I do not know
4)Well, I love both but if I were to choose, I'd pick being a listener that provides a advice and solution. Listening alone is not good enough. People need actual tangible help and I'd love to be that person for them
P.S. answering your questions was... Hmm... An experience
Originally, I joined on a Friday afternoon after I came out of my day treatment program I ran into a problem I needed to talk to somebody, but of course my therapist is were gone, so I wanted to check to see Online if there was any kind of therapy that I could use for those times that my therapist is weren’t available
Originally, I was a member and gradually as I kept on learning things for my program, and I started seeing that I had enough tools under my belt to be able to help others. I signed up as a listener I stay I enjoy talking to people. I enjoy if I can be of help to anybody. A bike stand connected, not only am I helping others, but they helping me as well.
