You owe it to yourself.
Understand this:
You don't need people who hold you back.
Anyone that doubts you or diminishes your value every time you talk to them, is someone that you should straight out cut off.
But those are not the only toxic people.
There are those who don't share your ambition, they're happy with being average.
They don't want anything more from life.
They're just surviving until their time comes.
As much as those people tend to be sweet and friendly, you have to acknowledge that they're holding you back.
You need to surround yourself with people who share your vision and ambition.
Those are long-lasting relationships.
So for a start:
Distance yourself from both those who lack ambition and those who think that you're not good enough.
You are wasting your time around them.
If said people are family members that you can't simply write off, you can actively seek to spend the least amount of time with them.
Realizing that their validation or rejection is meaningless will set you free.
Once you stop giving importance to their behavior and distance yourself from them, none of it will have impact on you.
Once again:
Avoid anyone who brings your energy down.
You owe it to yourself.
@SaffronPrime I agree with one part i.e. To keep away those who don't value you. As for those who are not equally ambitious, I don't want to push them away. I believe in being friends with those who are more ambitious as well as less. My ambition is my own - it need not be affected by being in company of those who have more ambition than me or less ambition than me. We can protect our energy while being friendly to everyone. Through this friendship we can even learn to be inspired from others or help someone to get to a higher energy plane. Isolating on basis of ambition feels arrogant to me, thats just my take. To each their own.
@Creamyyy I agree that cutting people out of our lives based on ambition is probably misguided.
@SaffronPrime That's a very good point dear. Unfortunately there are people out there that are not bad but they drag us down with them. The worst part is when these people are in denial and don't want to do therapy or improve themselves at all. Sometimes we need to let people go for our own good and for theirs too. Sometimes people need to lose you to step out of their comfort zone and realize something is wrong. No matter what happens you will be happy and there are better things waiting for you out there. All you have to do is believe it, focus on yourself and trust the process. Thank you for sharing!
