making meaningful connections
Im new here. 20M. Struggling with loneliness the past weeks. My long distance girlfriend has gone to college and its been a big change. The people around me are all much older, i’m feeling isolated and having a hard time connecting with my elders in the way i would peers. If anyone has advice or is in a similar situation and wants to talk about it i would be grateful.

making connection has no age.... yes, you might have more in common with peers but i was in a situation surrounded by many whom were older and seemingly not much in common.
This is an opportunity to see totally different perspectives and access experience and advice you could never have with your peers.
It is your choice to embrace having friendship with those around you. The most I have learned is when I did spend time with people whom on surface I would have not thought we had anything in common.
