Question about certification

Hello,
I was just curious about how the chat hours work. Recently, I listened to an individual for more than an hour but it only registered 30 minutes. So I was just wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

@Happysmiles123 There are two separate systems.
For interns, two standard chats (30 messages each, including both sent and received) are counted as one hour no matter how long it really took.
For listeners generally, there's a secret formula. Know one seems to know how the formula works, but everyone seems to agree that the number it comes up with is too small 
I don't understand what you mean by "it only registered 30 minutes". I can only see a whole number of hours.
