Hi there! I believe that no volunteer should be placed in a situation where they are uncomfortable, and you are well within your rights if you choose to end a chat because the topic is uncomfortable or difficult to discuss for you. If you do need to end the chat, however, please do politely let the member know that you are not personally comfortable with the chat topic and that they can browse for another listener on the Browse Listeners page, specifically sorting by topic as necessary. @rio7979 From the member's point of view the best way is if you can transfer the chat to another listener. You do this by pressing the button with a question mark on it at the top right of the chat (on the website), to go to the Listener Support Room where you'll get help to transfer the chat.

According to our listener training, you can "Block users who you do not wish to hear from" but many listeners disagree with the training on this point.

I think it would be helpful for 7 Cups to have clear and consistent advice on this openly available.
