My mother makes me annoyed

She insists that there are only female and male in the world. She says if neither female nor male, that can't be a human. I disagree, but she is impatient with my argument.

I've learned that some people cling to the way they were raised, or to the things they were taught by their family or religious leaders. As a result, they find it hard to adjust to new ideas or new ways of thinking about the world.
