Discussion Question: Is a problem still a problem if you don't think it's a problem?
If you don't consider it a problem, it is not a problem for you. However if it is a problem to someone close to you then it is your problem. The definition of a problem does not matter when it is hurting someone you love.
If you don't think something is a problem, but someone else in your life does, then reframing your point of view to be more like theirs might see why they consider it a problem. For instance, if you don't think using the word "homo" is a problem, but your friend has mentioned that they feel uncomfortable when you say it, try to understand why there is a discrepancy between your points of view.
Yes.
An apple is still an apple, even if you don't think/realize/believe that it is an apple at the present moment.
It all depends in my opinion. Sometimes people are tired of something being a problem, so they choose to see it as not a problem anymore. When in reality, it could be a very big problem. 😞
In contrary, its a great thing!
Maybe that's how some people overcome their problems by accepting them and NOT seeing them as problems, so for me it shows how courageous and strong u are, whether u will leave ur problems to eat u alive and get u down or face them
Yes because no matter what you are still gonna overthink and analyze it even in the back of your mind
I think it's still a problem. Maybe not for you, but for someone else.
Let's say your unemployed and you live with your parents. You might think it's no big deal. But you are a grown up, and you need to take care of yourself already.
Or let's say your partner is having issues. You don't think it's a big deal. But that's being a jerk.
Or let's say you have a severe disease. You don't think it's a problem. It depends on how you react. You might neglect to treat it.
I'd say it totally depends on who is saying its a problem, and how you react.
maybe you are right ..but same problems are so difficult you cant just egnore it
Yes, actually, I think it makes it even worse of a problem. If you unaware of a problem for yourself, doesn't mean that it is not affecting others around you.
there are a lot of factors that could contribute to whether or not you think something is a problem, so i don't think you can make an overarching statement to cover all situations. my friend doesn't think he's being abused, but the effects of it are noticeable, and his parents have clearly gaslighted him into thinking that it's his fault or just a normal thing that everyone goes through. he doesn't think it's a problem, or that it's "real" abuse, but it definitely is, morally and even legally.
there are definitely situations where the person with the problem(?) actually does know better. but in most cases, if something's been pointed out as a problem, it's either because it's affecting that person (whether they see it or not) or because it's affecting those around them. in either case, it's a problem regardless of whether the person realises it.
