If You Could Instantly Become An Expert In Something, What Would It Be?

I would like to be a research doctor and find a cure for the most life threatening diseases If I could pick two areas of expertise I would like to be a linguist expert and speak all the languages from the world because knowledge is passed to others through language.

Although my father and I are estranged (he's got some narcissistic tendencies, if he's not a full blown narc), he is an excellent lawyer. On his insistance, I studied law but I feel incompetent and unsure of myself every single day. If I had to be an expert in something, I would love to be an excellent lawyer like my father.
I would love to be an expert on anything scientific. Learning anything new and fufilling is among the most valuable rewards.

most importantly-- being competent to finally get the one thing my heart has always wanted. knowing what i need to do to at last attain my heart's agonizing, starved desire. being able to procure the love that i so dearly wish to find. no longer a reject failure whose life is just a festering wasteland wounded with a million gashes cut up battered bled out bludgeoned and sore all over, dried up, deteriorating dejected with this heart invariably rejected, seething with poisonous pain, full of insufferable sorrows, terminal heartache, and immeasurable disappointment that have all left me in this barren deserted nowhere, languishing in the deepest depression beyond repair yearning for death under the darkest cloud of despair.

I think all humans make poor or short-sighted decisions because it's in our nature. Not thinking things through because we don't have time, neglecting the important for the unimportant
